INFORMATION ABOUT THEATRE WORKSHOP

For all queries related to Children’s theatre workshop !

What does a Children’s theatre workshop look like?
Children’s theatre workshop is a platform where young people are encouraged to be creative and express their own ideas to generate a piece of theatre art. It aims to create a new and original piece of theatre, created solely by children under the supervision of a professional theatre practitioner.

My child is turning seven during this workshop; can they participate while they are still six years old?
All participants must be seven years old on the first day of their workshop.

Can you reserve a place in a workshop if I’m not sure right now?
Unfortunately, we can not reserve places. Theatre workshops work best when there are 12 to 15 children per batch. Paying the full fees will be considered as a reserved seat.

As a parent, can I come and sit inside to watch the workshop program?
It is our policy that parents are not allowed inside the workshop because

  • It is the children’s time to be creative with their peers.
  • It can be disruptive to the learning and creative process having non-participants in the space
  • Some children may become introverted or self-conscious with either parents or ‘strangers’ watching on
  • If your child is nervous, you are welcome to wait just outside the workshop so that they can find you easily.
  • We also have a Classroom Performance for parents and friends at the end of the program to see the progress of their child.

What if the workshop I’ve enrolled in is cancelled?
Proposed workshops may be cancelled due to an inadequate number of participants. If this occurs we will let you know and refund the full payment made by you.

What should the child wear? Anything to bring to the workshop?
Participants should wear comfortable clothing they can move around in (no jeans or skirts). Please bring a water bottle, a notebook and pencil/pen and a light lunchbox. Mobile phones and expensive gadgets are not allowed.

What happens if my child is absent from any session?
It is important that all children do their very best to attend all workshop sessions. If your child will be absent from a class, please inform the tutor of the workshop before-hand to ensure their safety.
